    • Connection to Subaru Hilo Base with Polycom + VNC Viewer 
    • Windows PC + Beam Projector + Polycom @ Hilo, Hawaii
  • Supported File format:
    • Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 (*.ppt)
    • Microsoft Word (*.doc)
    • Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf)
    • OpenOffice.org 2.3 (*.odp, *.odt)
    • Apple Quick Time Player (*.mpg)
  • Please upload  your presenation file on the following FTP server
    • Please upload your file  until one day before your presentation date at least.
    • Please make your presentaion file name as <firstname initial + lastname>.<extention>
      • For example,  if yourname is Bob Smith and presentation file is ppt file, then filename will be bsmith.ppt .
    • FTP server : ftp.naoj.org 
    • LOC sent  the ID and Password to access the FTP server already. If you forget these, please ask it  to pyo@naoj.org or one of the LOC.
    • File upload procedure  (The words in red indicate the place needed your input.)
      • Move to the directory contained your presentation file in your computer.
      • Access FTP server
      • > ftp ftp.naoj.org
        Connected to c09.naoj.org.

      • Input ID and Password obtained from LOC of SUBARU UM.
        Name (ftp.naoj.org:user):  <input ID>
        331 Password required for ID.
        Password: <input passwd>
        230 Anonymous access granted, restrictions apply.
        Remote system type is UNIX.
        Using binary mode to transfer files.
      • Change directory to 'UM2007'
        ftp> cd UM2007
      • Change mode to binary
        ftp>bin
      • Upload your presentation file
        ftp>put <presentation_filename>
      • Confirm your file uploaded (filename and size)
        ftp>ls
      • Quit FTP
        ftp>quit
      • Send email to LOC of Subaru UM(pyo@naoj.org, or others) with your filename.
       
  • If you have a web server to locate your presentation file on the internet, you can email the URL of the location of your file to one of the LOC or pyo@naoj.org who will download and put it on our fileserver.
  • You can also give your presentation file to one of the LOC by portable USB disk. Please let us know earlier than your presentaion time as possible as you can
