Infrared observations

Near-infrared observations of the SXDS field will be performed with the Wide Field Camera (WFCAM) on the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) as part of the UKIDSS (United Kingdom Infrared Deep Sky Survey) Ultra Deep Survey. The observations will cover 0.8 sq. deg. to planned depths of J=25, H=24, and K=23 (5 sigma, point source).

The entire SXDS field will be observed with the Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF; due to be renamed later this year) as part of the SWIRE legacy program's observations of the XMM-Newton Large Scale Structure (XMM-LSS) Survey. Observations will be performed with the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8.0 um, and the Multiband Imaging Photometer for SIRTF (MIPS) at 24, 70, and 160 um.
