How to use ANA,ANA2,HANA,HANA2 and Suprime-Cam Image Viewer "zview"

1. Login to ANA or ANA2 (Summit),  HANA or HANA2 (Remote).

2. Click right-mouse-button and select "Subaru Observatory Software
  (ANA only) Login". A login window appears and login with your proposal
  ID. If approved, ANA menu window appears.

3. Push button "SuprimeCam". Then terminal window and a black graphic
   window (PGPLOT Window 1) will appear. 

4. File transfer watcher window also appears at above-right on the
   screen.  This shows object number, a sequencial FrameID (SUPA*) recorded
   in the data archiving system, and OBJECT name in the FITS keyword
   of the latest frame.

5. On a prompt ZVIEW> in the terminal window , type 
   "@qlobject <obj_num>"
   This reads image file into a buffer memory and subtract overscan. 
   An example is, "@qlobject 003". 

   Please see the watcher window to see which image has been transfered 
   to ANA (if new images are transfered to ANA, there will be sound). 
   or ask instrument operator or support astronomer for <obj_num> of
   which you want to check. 

6. When you perform focusing test, type 
    "@qlfocus <obj_num>"
   to read the focusing image into a buffer, instead of @qlobject.

7. When image files are read, type 
   "tv 1 <min> <max> jt"
   to display images. Two new windows will appear. One window is
   "Zview Zoom" window for zoom view and the other is "Zview Image"
   window.  If you want to change lower and upper cut levels (dynamic
   range for displaying the image) try "tv 1 <min> <max> jt" again.  
   An example is "tv 1 3000 7000 jt",

8. To check bias frames: 
   In the terminal window, type "@qlbias <bias_num>". This will read a 
   bias files into a buffer and displays bias images. Try for example, 
   "@qlbias 000". 

9. In Zview Image window, click 
   - left-mouse-button to zoom out, 
   - mid-mouse-bbutton to center on, 
   - right-mouse-button to zoom in. 

10. In the terminal window, type "key" and enter to key mode. In the key mode,
   you can use following function. 
   p : plot radial profile
   e : plot contour
   ( : select bottom-left corner of a region
   ) : select top-right corner of a region
   s : calculate statistics for the region selected with '(' and ')'. 
   ? : for help
   q : exit from key mode

11. If you observe more than two nights and want to display the image 
    taken at previous night, please specify UT date (not Hawaiian date) 
    like this, 
	@qlobject 024 2001-03-25
	@qlbias  000  2001-03-24
    If the date is omitted, zview tries to load today's image. 

12. AutoLogger:
    When you push the "SuprimeCam" button on ANA or HANA (Not ANA2, HANA2), 
    an automatic logging program is started. It creates a log file
    (*.log) in a directory ~/log  ( ~/log/20XXXXXX.log)
