Introduction

Radio observations

Radio observations of the SXDS field will be made with the Very Large Array (VLA) during the period 10 August - 9 September 2002. A total of 64 hours of observation at 1.4 GHz in B-array will be undertaken, providing a uniform sensitivity of ~60 uJy/beam (5 sigma) over virtually the entire field (see the figure below for the locations of the VLA pointings [black circles] relative to the XMM-Newton fields). The NVSS has confirmed that there are no bright radio sources in or near the field which would compromise the sensitivity.
