A reconfigurable frame

In collaboration with the science team, the instrument group at Subaru has a new reconfigurable frame for the Subaru Telescope IR Nasmyth floor that will host SCExAO, HiCIAO as well as an Integral Field Spectrograph built by Princeton University.

Flexibility is ensured by a double system of rails that allows lateral translations of the different elements of the instrument: the Extreme AO breadboard to the front, and the final instrument, HiCIAO or IFS.

The mechanical design is made by Yoshi Doi from Subaru Telescope.
