The COMICS spectrograph consists of 5 arrays, each 320 pixels in the dispersion direction, separated by the equivalent of 250 pixels. The entire spectrum fits on a single array in low-resolution mode, while two exposures are required to produce a complete spectrum in medium or high-resolution mode.
