Leaving Hale Pohaku to the Summit of Mauna Kea

10: To the Summit of Mauna Kea

After eating dinner the following day, you will be going up to the summit of Mauna Kea to observe. Let's hope your body has adjusted to the altitude. You will now be going to an even higher altitude of 14,000 feet (4,200m), so be sure to drink water frequently. Also, the temperature at the summit will be near 32°F (0°C), so make sure to wear warmer clothes.
