Aloha

I am a PhD student, originally from India, enrolled at Laboratoire d'études spatiales et d'instrumentation en astrophysique (LESIA), one of the five scientific laboratory of Observatoire de Paris, France. I conduct my PhD research at Subaru Telescope, Hawaii under the supervision of Olivier Guyon and Pierre Baudoz at LESIA.

I am working on an extreme adaptive optics (ExAO) system called as the Subaru coronagraphic extreme adaptive optics system (SCExAO), which is a high contrast imaging testbed of Subaru Telescope. My work involves the low-order wavefront correction of the post adaptive optics (AO) residuals for the apodized and phase mask coronagraphs.

My speciality is Instrumentation and most of my research so far has been based on the software development and implementation of wavefront sensing units on SCExAO. Most of the observational nights that I have attended at the Subaru Telescope involved the intense testing of our Extreme AO system at Mauna Kea. Apart from my astronomical instrumentation interest, I am equally curious in exploring the innovative coronagraphic techniques and novel approaches of post-processing to be able to perform science operations using wavefront sensor telemetry.

For more details about my work, please check out the Research section.

Research Interests: Wavefront control techniques for High contrast imaging, Coronagraphy, Optical/NIR Extreme adaptive optics, Direct imaging of Terrestrial-like exoplanets in the habitable zone.
