Opening of FMOS

FMOS will be newly opened for use in late S10A (from sometime around May, 2010). The operation will be conducted in a shared-risk mode. At present, only IRS1 in the Low Resolution (LR) mode is available, since the performance of IRS2 is not yet satisfactory due to its high background level. However, once this problem has been resolved, IRS2 may also become available within the S10A semester.

AO188 operation without LGS

AO188 will be operated in S10A without the laser guide star system, combined with IRCS.
