IRCS echelle orders
The configuration of the IRCS echelle is adjustable to most user
requirements. The following tables list `standard' configurations which
should satisfy most applicants.
Go to: zJ, J,
H, K, L
The zJ setting of the echelle provides continuous wavelength
coverage from 1.0146 - 1.1912 um.
| Order | Wavelength (um) |
Dispersion (A/pixel) |
|---|
| 48 | 1.1629 - 1.1912 | 0.276 |
| 49 | 1.1391 - 1.1670 | 0.273 |

| 53 | 1.0529 - 1.0791 | 0.256 |
| 54 | 1.0334 - 1.0591 | 0.251 |
| 55 | 1.0146 - 1.0398 | 0.245 |
The J setting of the echelle provides continuous wavelength
coverage from 1.1626 - 1.3946 um.
| Order | Wavelength (um) |
Dispersion (A/pixel) |
|---|
| 41 | 1.3613 - 1.3946 | 0.326 |

| 43 | 1.2979 - 1.3299 | 0.313 |
| 44 | 1.2684 - 1.2998 | 0.307 |
| 45 | 1.2402 - 1.2709 | 0.301 |

| 47 | 1.1874 - 1.2170 | 0.289 |
| 48 | 1.1626 - 1.1916 | 0.283 |
Complete coverage of the H-band requires two settings of the
echelle, H- and H+.

Complete coverage of the K-band requires two echelle
settings, K- and K+. In addition,
a third setting, K*, is offered which includes most
of the important astronomical emission lines.

Complete coverage of the L window requires 6 echelle
settings. The A-, A0, and A+ settings
include orders 15-19 only, while the B-, B0, and
B+ settings include orders 14-17 only. Note that no
observations have been made with the echelle at L-band, and
therefore these numbers are very preliminary.
