Illustrates every aspect of Hawai`i including sealife and culture, along with night skies and observatory. Very creative with great use of space. (Tracy)

Exellent depiction of Hawaiian life with inclusion of ocean. volcano, and Mauna Kea. Inclusion of constellations was unique with Hawaiian images. (Nancy)


2nd place: Sienna Levine

Judges' Comments:

Hawai`i campfire setting under the night skies with observatory in the back ground. Calming and tranquil piece of art. (Tracy)

Very neatly drawn with use of telescope, night sky, and Mauna Kea. Showed a campsite which implied a family outing to study astronomy. (Nancy)


3rd place: Justyn Aren Toyama

Judges' Comments:

Artwork includes much of the observatories and also a depiction of Hokule`a's navigation using the night skies and stars. (Tracy)

Showed cloud level below Mauna Kea summit and included all optical and infrared observatories. Inclusion of Hokule`a communication was unique. (Nancy)
