Judges' Comments:

Include all aspects of poster contest theme. Night skies, observatory and a palm tree for a Hawaiian touch. The stargazer by the campfire is a nice additional touch to give the piece a personal feel. (Tracy)

Very colorful. Showed all 3 aspects Maunakea, Hawai`i Night Sky. We liked the campfire + palm trees next to the mountain. (Mary Beth)


2nd place: Destiny Bidiman

Colorful, includes Maunakea Visitor Center and takes you on a pictorial journey to the observatory to view night skies. (Tracy)

Colorful, included constellations. The picture takes us on a trip to the top of Mauna Kea and includes everything that you’d see going up (Mary Beth)

Enjoyed this interpretation of stargazing under the night skies and palm tree in Hawai`i. (Tracy)

Nice combining of Hawai`i and the night sky. Palm trees were very nicely done as well as the shooting stars. (May Beth)
