Guidelines for the Image Use and Sales of the
Mauna Kea Brand Astronomy Trading Cards


If you would like to use the images on this web site, please note that:
  • The observatory/institute mentioned on each card and the Mauna Kea Observatories Outreach Committee (MKOOC) own the copyright for each image on this web site unless stated otherwise. For example, Richard Crowe, UH Hilo, and MKOOC own the copyright for the Spade Ace card.
  • You can freely use these images for your PERSONAL USE ONLY. This PERSONAL USE does NOT include personal web sites or blogs. If you would like to use the images on your personal web site or blog, please ask for permission.
  • Modification of these images is expressly forbidden without our consent.
  • We generally refuse requests for commercial use. The card sets can be sold ONLY at non-profit organization for which MKOOC has granted permission in advance.

If you want to use the images for purposes other than your own personal needs, or if your non-profit organization would like to sell the cards, please ask for permission in advance using the request form below. Please send the form to the address shown below by e-mail.
