Celebrate International Year of Astronomy 2009


The Galileo Block Party is the community, family-oriented event related to International Year of Astronomy (IYA) 2009, in Hilo off Komohana Street at the UHH Science and Technology Park including `Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai`i. This is a drug and alcohol free event.




Time schedule

1:30pm: Opening Ceremony at the center stage (Subaru area)
2:00pm - 6:00pm: Activities and hands-on stations by observatories and amateur astronomy groups
4:00pm - 7:00pm: Special events at `Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai`i


How to get to the UHH Astronomy Park (Science and Technology Park)

Directions from Wainuenue Avenue:
Driving up WAINUENUE AVENUE turn left on to KOMOHANA STREET. After about 1.4 miles, you will see a large green sign on the right, “University of Hawaii Astronomy Center”. After seeing the sign, take a left on to NOWELO STREET.
